The organ was built by J.W. Walker of London in 1959 for St George's Anglican Church, Hamilton South with 18 stops extended from four ranks. The church was extensively damaged in the 1989 earthquake and has been demolished. It was decided to move the organ to St Stephen's, Adamstown in 1994 and it was moved by Clive Arkley.
