Details from Plenum March 2007:

The organ was purchased by the South Waratah Uniting (Methodist) Church from S.T. Noad & Son of Auburn in November 1962. It was dedicated on Sunday 9th December, 1962, the organist being Heather MacIntosh.

The recital on this occasion was as follows:

Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring
Prelude and Fugue No. IX (book II of the 48)
Sheep May Safely Graze
Toccata and Fugue in D minor

Bob Reynolds purchased this instrument (lot 14) at an auction held at the church on 19th June, 1993 and removed it to his residence at Lambton for storage on 11th July, 1993.

With the exception of the pedalboard, all wiring to keyboard and main chest was replaced. Commencing in January 1995 at Mayfield, the organ was built into the rear wall of the residence. The case design he used was based on the 1904 organ at St Andrew's, Braidwood, built by his grandfather, Walter G. Rendall.

Specification

Originally one manual of 61 notes and a pedaboard of 30 notes with tab style stops placed above the manual, it was made up of two extended ranks, both enclosed: Open Diapason (metal with wood CC to TC) and Stopped Flute (wood).

The organ is now divided into two manuals using the same stop nomenclature.

In 1998 Bob Reynolds puchased the following used components from Alan Cargill of Lithgow:

Dulciana 8 (from Uniting Church, Epping - removed 1996)
Gedact 8 (from Cooerwull Presbyterian Church - removed 1995)
Diapason 8 (from Anglican Church, Paddington - removed 1958)

Various other parts included switch stacks, electro magnetic chests, 2 x 61 note manuals, both refelted and renewed. Something came from St Mark's, Northbridge.

The Diapason 8 is yet to be installed with a new chest to be made to suit the pipe layout.

The Dulciana and Gedact extended to 4ft have been placed on the lower manual and the original organ pipes have been placed on the Swell in the swell box.

Since 1998 the organ has been moved twice, initially to Medowie and then to Brandy Hill in 2003.

Some minor work has yet to be completed, including manual coupling and the provision of the top octave of the 4ft extension.
